coffee cart + lattes at home

for a long time i've wanted to create a little coffee cart for in my home. i finally made my dream coffee cart into a reality a couple years ago & don't know why i never really shared it. it's super adorable and can be moved around to any part of the house since it has wheels (which is nice because i like to rearrange and sometimes have to for babyproofing reasons).

Our 5th Valentine's Day

Mack and I celebrated our 5th Valentine's Day together this year and I have to say - it was the best one yet!! In past years we've gone on dates, Mack has skipped class to bring me flowers & a poem, we've eaten lots of sushi, and Mack even cooked for me one year! We don't generally do presents on Valentine's Day, which I'm fine with, but we didn't really have much of a plan this year. We stayed in bed for a looooonggg time and finally decided that we were going to stay in for dinner and cook ourselves something "fancy".

DIY Chocolate Covered Spoons

I've been thinking about doing this project since December! I was originally going to do these for little gifts around the holidays, but I got really caught up with doing other things (like neverending Christmas cookies & wrapping presents) so it didn't happen. But with Valentine's Day coming up, I knew I could do something adorable with this idea. I had been inspired by some other spoons I saw on pinterest, and thought getting some interesting pieces from thrift stores would take these to the next level!

Easy Fall Sangria

Since Mack and I are leaving town for Thanksgiving, as are most of our friends, we decided to have a celebration beforehand. This is only the second Thanksgiving that Mack and I have been on our own, and the first that I've actually cooked for. I was a little nervous about making the food, but with the help of my friend, we had a delicious meal. We had a blast...and a lot of pie (recipes to come!). Anyway, I found this delicious fall sangria recipe on Facebook.

German Chocolate Cake

Since the hubby wants a German Chocolate Cake every single year for his birthday, I got to make one earlier this week. Cakes definitely are not my strong suit, but I really focused on making this cake look prettier than I have in the past. I'm super happy with the way it ended up looking, but the taste of the cake is what really stood out! It's not an extremely difficult cake to make, but there are still impressive elements like the homemade caramel and the yummy dark chocolate ganache. I got this recipe, like the majority of my recipes, from my incredible mom!
