DIY // Burlap Banner

Every once in a while, I'll have gathered up a plethora of DIY ideas and all of the sudden I'll feel the urge to complete them all! Earlier this week I took one day and did three of the projects. I'll do a post for each project individually, but for now I'll start with the banner I made for our mantle. This was a super easy and inexpensive project to do.

Here's What You Need:

  • Some sort of burlap material
  • Some cardboard
  • Paper
  • The internet
  • Twine
  • Clothespins
  • Black craft pain
  • Small paint brush
  • Letter Stencils
  • Sharpie

Here's How To Make It:

I first started off by googling images of banner flags. I found the one I liked and printed it off. I taped it to a random piece of cardboard (from like an old shoe box or something) and cut out the shape to use for a template. Then I used a sharpie to trace around the cardboard. I made as many flags as I had letters and then proceeded to cut them all out. Then the stenciling part is pretty straight forward! Paint the letters you need to spell whatever it is you want on your banner and wait for them to dry. Once all the paint is dry, take the clothespins and attach the flags to your twine. Ta-da! You have an adorable burlap banner that you made yourself.

Here are some photos of the the final product.
